How to Travel in Ecuador

Peru’s neighbor to the north is home to many wonderful and extraordinary sights of its own. So what’s the best way to see Ecuador for yourself?

We’re pretty excited about the launch of a new bus company in Ecuador this year. Ecuador Hop will bring travelers to destinations like Baños, Montañita, Cotopaxi Volcano and Quilotoa Lake with an easy-to-use hop on hop off system. Sister companies Peru Hop and Bolivia Hop have already had success with the “hop” concept in those countries and it will be exciting to see them roll it out in Ecuador.

The purpose of a hop on hop off bus is to provide all of the benefits of taking a guided tour, while also giving travelers the freedom to travel independently. You hop off at a destination, stay for as long as you want, and then hop back on and continue onto your next destination. The pass is valid for a full year for the route that you choose, so you are free to stay as long or as little as you want at each destination.

Ecuador Hop buses also offer a number of intriguing perks like free exclusive stops, direct hostel/hotel pick-up in Quito, tour booking onboard the bus plus a fully-bilingual staff to assist you. Ecuador Hop is set to begin service in February 2019, just a few weeks away. For more information or to book a route, make sure to visit their website at ecuadorhop.com.
