Laguna Colorada

The incredible Laguna Colorada (Red Lagoon) is often considered, alongside the Bolivian Salt Flats, as Bolivia’s most spectacular natural wonder. The lake is on average, one meter deep and shifts in color between blue and red. While folklore indicates that the redness is produced as a result of the bloods of the Gods, it is actually as a result of both the red sediments and algae in the water.
